Queen Mary Falls is located 10Km east of Killarney in south Queensland. I love the way the light rays shine through the water as they bathe the crumbling eroding cliff face above.
The entrance to Wards Canyon in Carnarvon Gorge Is quite a spectacular walk ,you follow the crystal clear creek in through the sandstone cliffs and overhangs to a section of the Carnarvon Gorge that is home for the majestic King Fern
Welcome to Les's Image gallery Blog, a place to inform you about the latest additions . I have included some of my Favorite images captured on recent trips. Carnarvon Gorge is a photographers dream ,the images displayed where taken at Mickeys Gorge and also Wards Canyon the home of the rare King Ferns .The use of slow exposures down to about 15 seconds is a must in these gorges due to the limited light it also helps to slow the water down. My graphite tripod was heaven sent as we where walking for a good 8 hours.
The Coolum photos were taken on a property near Baralabah in the golden hour at sundown the colors at that time of day are remarkable .The blue sky silo photo was taken 15 minutes before the orange sky silo shots, amazing how 15 minutes can effect the final image.
